2nd day!! Rise & shine!!
And he is already busy working!!! So while he settle some of his work stuff, I fished out my camera to pass time!!! Ahaha!!!
Finally its time to head out...
We went to Xi Men Ting for breakfast, or brunch...
However, think we were a little too early, as the place seems pretty deserted at that time...we were there around 10am or so...
Walk around awhile before we found this place that is open.
We ordered prawn dumpling noodle soup and Gong Yuan Tang (meatball soup).
It was good...The noodle soup was tasty and not too salty which suits our taste bud.
Apparently Gong Yuan seems to be pretty popular in Taiwan.
After satisfying our stomachs, we went for a little shopping around Xi Men Ting as by then, most of the the shops are opened and ready for business...
And bubble tea time...somehow the bubble tea in Taiwan just taste better...and there's so many different varieties...
Ahaha...this staircase...
We used the steps for our camera to take the pic above (of both of us)...haha
After XMT, we went back hotel to pack up and get ready to check out of Sheraton Hotel.
We have to reach Hsinchu that evening as Jones had to start work the following day...
As we still have about half a day in Taipei, we left our luggage at the hotel while we explore Danshui.
I went there before with a colleague and that place holds fond memories for me but it has been so many years since i last visit, so am not very familiar with it already until this trip...
A pic of Sheraton Hotel restaurant from the lift.
Our change of clothes before we head out to Danshui.
On the train ...
Danshui!
As I mentioned, I haven't been here for many years since, and we just anyhow walked. I remember there are many shopping areas and eating stalls, but this street even though is familiar to me, just seems deserted, given that the train we came on were packed full of people alighting at Danshui. I was thinking maybe the people went to the nearby beach???!! but with the scorching hot weather, I really wonder...picnic under the sun & heat?
Saw this market...didn't go in coz Jones's not interested...
pass by this temple and we went in for a while...
This is not purely orange juice....it's fresh OJ with green tea. Very refreshing!! Weird combination, but it taste good!!!
We were preparing to leave Danshui when I said I wanted to get some snacks from 7-eleven first.
Onigiri., looks gross from this pic, but I really liked it alot.
I was eating my snacks here when jones noticed something...
see?
Look at the crowd!!! So this is where all the people are...and we apparently missed this direction when we exit the train station earlier on...And i still thought the people are heading to the seaside.... If not for taking some pics at the park and enjoying my onigiri, we would have missed this place. I was so excited and wanted to join in the crowd, but my dear darling who hates the crowd decided to stay put and wait for me while I explore...nevermind, forgive him since he wasn't feeling well yet...
I remember eating wonton soup here many years back...
Jones' view when seated...
I went back to join him coz it was really too crowded...You basically walk a few steps and then someone will bang into you ...and plus its so hot and warm in there..I bought a jelly drink but it's not as nice as the one from Shilin market. I think I ordered wrongly coz I forgot what's it's called and basically just pointed the jelly drink to the guy.
One last look at Dansui train station.
Will continue in the next post on our journey to Hsinchu.
